Terms of Service

The service

Living Legacy is a private home for your family's legacy, operated by Chetan Maddipatla. You may create profiles for relatives, record their relationships, and invite other people to collaborate within a family tree you control. The service includes sharing voice stories via SMS and WhatsApp links, AI-assisted narrative generation, and a download of your family's legacy.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the digital-consent age in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher).
  • You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account.
  • You may delete your account at any time from Settings.

Your content

  • You retain ownership of the content you upload (member data, photos, stories).
  • You grant us a non-exclusive license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the service for you and the family members you have invited.
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content about living relatives, including their photos and personal data.

What you may not do

  • Upload content that violates someone's rights or applicable law.
  • Use the service to harass, dox, or impersonate others.
  • Attempt to access another family's data without an invite.
  • Scrape, automate, or resell the service.
  • Send content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or obscene.

Messaging (SMS and WhatsApp)

Living Legacy may send you SMS and WhatsApp messages to deliver share links for voice stories and service notifications. Message frequency varies — typically one message per share invitation you request or receive.

  • Opt out: Reply STOP to any SMS message to stop receiving messages from Living Legacy.
  • Help: Reply HELP to any SMS message for assistance or contact us at [email protected].
  • Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan.

Collaboration

When you invite a person to collaborate on your family tree, they will be able to view and (depending on their role) edit the tree. You can change their role or remove them at any time from Settings.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but provide it on an “as is” basis without warranty. We may update or discontinue features. We will give reasonable notice of material changes that affect your data.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
